Privacy Policy

• We collect what we need to run the Service, and nothing more.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• Much of the Service works without an account, and then your resume stays in your own browser.
• You can download or delete your data at any time.

Account details. If you create an account we store your email address and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us.

Your content. The resumes, cover letters, job descriptions, and job-tracker entries you save to your account - for example company names, roles, dates, notes, and any contact details you choose to add.

Uploaded files. When you upload a resume, we read the file to extract its text so it can be edited. The file itself is not stored. If you are signed in, we record the file’s name and size.

AI usage. When you use an AI feature we keep a record of the request type, whether it succeeded, and how much processing it used, so we can apply fair-use limits and keep the Service running.

Technical information. Like most websites, our servers and hosting providers process your IP address, browser type, and request logs to deliver pages, prevent abuse, and fix problems.

If you don’t sign in, your resume and job tracker are saved in your own browser’s storage on your device, not on our servers. Clearing your browser data removes them. If you later sign in, you can choose to move them into your account.

• to provide the Service - saving, scoring, tailoring and exporting your documents;
• to create and secure your account and let you sign in;
• to send account emails, such as sign-up confirmations and password resets;
• to prevent fraud and abuse and to keep the Service secure;
• to understand and fix problems and improve the Service.

We do not use your resumes or other content to train AI models, and we do not sell your personal information.

When you use an AI feature, the relevant content - usually your resume and the job description - is sent to our AI provider, Groq, to generate the result, which is returned to you. It is sent only when you use such a feature. Please avoid putting sensitive personal information, such as health or financial details, into content you send for AI processing.

We share information only with service providers who help us run the Service, and only as much as they need:

• Vercel - hosts the JustResume website and counts anonymous page visits and page speed (see Cookies below).
• Our own servers - store your account and saved content in our database.
• Groq - processes content you send to AI features.
• Google - if you choose to sign in with Google.
• An email delivery provider - to send account emails.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger or sale of the Service - in which case this policy would continue to apply.

The JustResume browser extension reads a job posting only when you ask it to - when you click its button, use its right-click menu or keyboard shortcut, or when it shows its floating button on a supported job board. It does not read pages in the background and does not track your browsing.

These stay on your device, in the browser’s extension storage, and are never sent to us:

• Your pasted resume text, if you save one in the extension’s options for the offline match estimate.
• Your recently captured jobs, so the popup can re-open them.
• Your settings - the JustResume address it points at, and which resume you last matched against.

The match percentage is calculated on your device. The extension contacts justresume.site only to check whether you are signed in and, when you click Tailor or Save, to open JustResume with the captured job. Removing the extension deletes everything it stored.

We use essential cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in, remember your language and cookie choices, and keep the Service secure. These are needed for the Service to work.

We count visits and measure how fast pages load using Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights. They set no cookies, do not identify you or follow you across sites, and only give us totals such as how many people viewed a page and which country they came from.

We only use analytics or advertising cookies if you agree to them in our cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time from the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

We keep your account and saved content for as long as your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your account and content. Copies in our backups are removed within 14 days. We may keep limited records for longer where the law requires it.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• access the information we hold about you;
• download a copy of your data - available from your Account page;
• correct information that is wrong;
• delete your account and data - available from your Account page;
• object to or restrict certain uses of your information;
• withdraw consent you have given, such as for cookies.

To use any of these rights, email support@justresume.site. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Information is encrypted in transit, and access to your saved content is restricted to your own account. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information.

Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

The Service is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy. When we make a significant change we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, tell you in the Service.
